James A. Phillips III

Owner/Broker:

As one of the "pioneers" of the residential mortgage brokers in NY State, he was, in 1987, one of the first in NY State to obtain the newly created NYS MORTGAGE BROKER REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE issued by the NYS Banking Department resulting from new legislation passed by the by the state legislature in July 1987. Prior to that, as a licensed real estate broker since 1969, he had handled thousands of loan applications for home buyers who purchased homes through his various real estate brokerage firms.

As one of "the pioneers" he served as a charter member of the prestigious Citibank Mortgage Power Advisory Board, as well the Manufacturer's Hanover Mortgage Advisory Board and subsequently the Chemical Bank Mortgage Advisory Board.

During that time, he led his firm to become one of the first mortgage brokerage firms in Queens County to become a "full processing" firm giving his firm access to more lenders (wholesale and retail) and to provide a higher level of control over the often complicated and time consuming loan application process. Together with the firm's commitment towards honesty and professionalism, this allowed the firm to deliver the highest level of service to its valued customer base.

Also owns Coldwell Banker Phillips, a residential real estate brokerage firm, which continues the three generations of service begun by James A. Phillips, Sr., begun in 1930.

Phyllis Filippone

Manager /Loan Consultant

A savvy veteran with over 25 years experience in the mortgage origination industry, Phyllis began her career with a major mortgage lender getting tremendous back office and managerial experience and knowledge in how major mortgage lenders work. Phyllis later took that experience to the mortgage brokerage industry and began helping a customer base with her enormous knowledge of the business and her easygoing personality that her customers love and feel so comfortable with. She became part of the Phillips team in 199 (?) and has continued the company’s commitment towards delivering unequaled, honest, professional service since then.

Matthew J. Phillips

Loan Consultant/ Director of Web development Services

Part of the team since 2002, Matt is the 4 th generation of Phillips family to serve the folks of Queens County since 1930. A graduate of Hofstra University, Matt brings the technology expertise to lead the firm into the exploding world of online originations, automated underwriting and web development. He researched and led the firm to its first internet based multi-lender searching capability, allowing us to search over 200 lenders for each customer to ensure they get the lowest rate and the best loan possible for their specific needs. Combined with his own people skills, education, energy and technical mortgage lending training he brings the "new generation perspective" to a long established family business.

Ewa Wojciechowska

Processor/Compliance Manager

The back office person who makes it all come together for our team, Eva handles all processing issues, lender relations and regulatory compliance issues. She is the "go to" person who digs through the maze of paperwork to make sure our loan consultants are able to deliver the promise made to our valued customers. A virtual encyclopedia of lender knowledge, she manages the enormously complicated task of sorting out various lenders loan products offered, plus their processing requirements. Fluent in Polish, she also helps with the many Polish speaking customers who prefer to deal with our firm.
